Physical Description:
Kai follows the traditional enhanced scheme of vampires. With porcelain pale skin (already pale before she was transformed) and burning red eyes, Kai is of a thin and somewhat willowy build. She has an extraordinary mane of brilliant red hair, with a layered side fringe. At the very tips of her hair the hue darkens to an almost blood red. of course, before she was changed, this wasn't her natural colour. She was, in fact,a strawberry blond. But with no change, there's no regrowth. Her features are almsot elfin, with a full mouth and small nose, wide eyes that once glowed blue. Now they burn, the same as her hair.
Kairen, or Kai, is of the average height for a late teen human. She was never particularly tall, and now she never will be. This tends to give the illusion that she is somewhat defenceless, though this is anything but the case. With regard to clothing, Kai goes with a mix of pretty and practical, preferring to stick to what had been her normality before her life spun around. She tends to wear black miniskirts or skinny jeans, which illustrate her newly perfected figure, and hoodies. That's in addition to the black Converse high-tops, of course..

Personality:
Kai is quite an intriguing one with regard to personality, actually. Her temper is exceedingly quick to flare up and frighteningly vicious, not hesitating to spit out bitter vitriol, things better left unsaid. When angered Kai is bitterly sarcastic and cold, finally spinning off into a long silence. After this, though, she is generally rather apologetic. This is because Kai is actually rather upset about a number of things, and several things will cause painful recollection ..Although her temper is violent, Kai really does try to restrain it where possible.
Despite this flaw, Kai is actually quite compassionate. She has a good sense of when to speak and when silence is preferred, and will not hesitate to fly up in defense of someone close to her if she feels it necessary. If an argument is getting too deep, she stops it. If someone's wallowing in sorrow, she’ll end it with either a few kind words or a reprimand for blaming them self-whichever the situation calls for. This is why she hates ending the lives of humans, though she hasn't even thought of vegetarianism, as others call it.
To cover up her temper, Kai tends to fully submerge herself in the activities she's partaking in. She’s unusually hyperactive and energetic, sprinting if it saves time, a whirlwind of motion and energy. She will occasionally (very occasionally, mind you) get frustrated with the slow speed of things and say so-she is, after all, incredibly outspoken. Speed and energy are two major points in the weave of her life-slow and orderly proceedings make her feel contained and maneuvered. Spontaneous? Yeah, that's Kai.
Strengths:
Kai is very good at seeing the truth throughout the lies - she always has been. It seems to be due to the fact that she's exceptionally good at reading body language, the product of a fearful home life. In addition to this, Kai is a shield of sorts - attacks on her are redirected and averted. It is not, however, impossible to attack her.
Weaknesses:
Kai has rather a temper. with a large stubborn streak. She refuses to admit defeat a lot of the time, irritating some people. Her temper is sometimes another cause for regret.
Special Abilities:
Kai is a sort of shield. Any attacks on her seem to go wrong and end up facing the wrong direction. However. Well thought out attacks are fine, and work against her - only spur of the moment ones are resisted.
Historical
History:
Her history is fairly short, as she's only eighteen. Kairen was born to Chris Danza and Emily Lyssa, on the 19th of November 1990. At the time her family was living in New York, hence her ever so slightly, barely noticeable American accent. She was an only child, and her family life was relatively blissful up until she turned thirteen. Her mother walked in on her father in with another woman, fracturing their relationship. Kai was sure it'd get better - until her mother sadly killed herself due to clinical depression, by way of an overdose.
Maybe Kai would have coped better if her father hadn't been so seemingly uncaring about her death. In fact, within a week he'd chased up some other woman. A woman determined to drive Kai to insanity, it seemed - by limiting what she could do, via curfews and such. She was verbally abusive and malicious o Kai, though sickeningly sweet when her father was around. By the two month mark Kai was sleeping in the magnolia tree outside her house, just to escape the cooped up feeling beginning to encircle her. Her father barely spoke to her but to reprimand her, or ask her to bring him a beer. Be nice to Nicole, shut up whining, and bring me a Heineken.
Kai had just gone fifteen when her pseudo-mother and apathetic father made two ground-breaking announcements. For starters, Nicole was pregnant. her exact words were We'll have a nice new child - maybe he'll be better. That, and they were moving to London. For a teenager just going through high school, this is awful news. Reluctantly Kai came with them, though she was unsure why. Some sense of child duty? Probably just to look after the new kid, to protect him. She remains uncertain. because her step-mother just set her to work cleaning up this hideous house, gorgeous but so painfully fake.
Kai moved out at 15 - not officially. She just never came home. There was no contact between her and her parents for three days - when she was taking a shortcut over to a friend's place. There, something tough and white crashed into her and (or so she thought at the time) stabbed her in the jugular. Doubtless death would have ensued, had not the vampire (that's what it was) been distracted. Kai still doesn't know what by, but that there was a shrill yowling noise and a fire, a fire creeping sadistically over her skin. Three days. Three days she crystallised, and the fire exhausted itself.
Then she opened her still burning eyes to gaze at the leaves she was under, bathed in ultraviolet light and smelling vaguely earthy. All around her, sounds and smells.. Animalian heart beats, so many scents. Dull burning in her throat. Sadly, Kai is not a purist, and fell upon the first four humans she came across. next came her step mother. kai regrets it, but in newborn rage she snapped her neck and left her on the doorstep, before racing away to continue her life. Her new life with burning eyes (she knows nothing of her future, of how she'll change) and throat, with cold skin and glittering facets.

Fire. Heat. The heat grew all over her, smouldering. Through the pain, Kai managed a few occasional coherent thoughts. Help me. It can''t get worse. But it's amazing how much we can think that, only to look back on it and wish it had stayed at that level. Kai had no idea how long she'd been there - she didn't want to know, more to the point, but she could feel it fading slowly from her fingertips. Gradually her outer extremities cooled, and she relaxed as much as she could atop her metaphorical pyre. For moments, respite was hers - until her heart exploded. Or it felt like it. Her heart rate soared as it burned, feeling like a red hot poker had been inserted into her atriums. A scream tore from her dully burning throat, her spine bowing upwards like she'd been jump-started. Not long to go now, was her consolation, sinking back into the pain that only got worse, focal point on her heart.
347 breaths later, Kai forced her eyes to open. Forced her lungs to draw in a gulp of oxygen - though, oddly, she had no relief from it. The air rushed into her lungs and simply stayed there, and she didn't need to exhale. But if she couldn't, she couldn't smell. Swallowing, her hands flew to her throat in surprise. No, surely the pain was over?! Yet pain still smothered her throat, all consuming. In an attempt to run from it, Kai twisted upright and leapt lightly up the towering oak tree to her left - in a 45th of a second, she noted. That too confused her. Not only could she see another light in her spectrum, she seemed faster than possible. Frowning, she took in another unnecessary breath and pushed herself off the branch. When she landed in a crouch, it had seemed so slow! What was she?!
