Alice Cullen
Basic Information
Name: Alice Cullen
Apparent Age: 19
Actual Age: 107
Diet: Vegetarian
Clan: Cullen
Physical
Physical Description: Alice Cullen possesses the same beautiful characteristics that most of her kind do. As with other vampires, Alice's scent is that of a sweet intoxicating flower that soon becomes overwhelming if she is particularly close to someone. This is rarely a problem, as she and the rest of her family usually keep from socializing with humans. Alice is extraordinarily beautiful, but her beauty is not that of a mature woman. Alice's looks are very pixie-like, which has to do both with her size and the way in which she moves. Alice is a very small creature, that stands at 4'10". She has a beautifully arched nose with a tiny perky tip, and a pair of full pale lips that darken towards the center. Her teeth are of course bright and perfect, not a single tooth out of place. Perched above her eyes are a pair of naturally thin but dark arching eyebrows, which stand out upon her pale face.
Her eyes themselves are wide doe-eyed circles, that usually reflect some hidden sense of knowledge. As with all vampires, she has dark rings around her eyes that makes the skin look slightly bruised, as if she hasn't gotten sleep in a very, very, long time, but this does not detract from her beauty. Like most vampires, when she is gripped by thirst her eyes appear black or extremely dark ocher, particularly if something that smells exceptionally good is nearby. Once her hunger has been satiated, her eyes return to their normal topaz hue. Her eyes are framed with long dark eyelashes that manage to call attention to her striking orbs. Alice's hair is a deep black shade, and gives of the feeling of being spikey depending on how she styles it. It is cropped short, currently, and has been that way for the past century. Her short stylized hair helps to give off the vibe that she is like a doll that should be perched on someone's shelf in their bedroom.
Her limbs and body are so delicate-looking that it appears as though she could be broken in half by a stronger foe. This could very well be the case, but the trouble in executing such a feat lies in the inability to catch her. Alice is hardly the fastest of the Cullen Coven, but during battle she moves with the same quick speed as the rest of them. What make her movements unique, however, is the way in which she moves. Every step, every gesture, is like that of a dancer. It is nearly impossible to predict her next move. She moves with agility that could make even a ballerina jealous, and usually leaves whoever is lunging at her grasping at air. Granted, her gift helps her to allude those who would do her harm, but that gift is nullified when she is battling werewolves. When fighting other vampires however, the moment they decide on how to attack, she knows how to evade them. Her body stance and weight does not betray her next move, and she can generally evade targets with complete ease, making it look like she were simply partaking in a graceful dance

Psychological
Personality:Alice is, in a word, kind. She cares deeply for those closest to her and would do anything to keep them from harm. Of all the members of the Cullen coven, she has known Jasper the longest, and cares for him a bit stronger than she does for the others. However this does not mean she wouldn't do everything in her power to help the rest of her family. She would lie, cheat, steal, and throw herself into danger all for the sake of any one of the members of her family. Though the Cullens aren't her real family, they are the closest thing that she has ever had. Her loyalty runs deep, and does not just apply for those that are official members of the Cullen family. She cares for the Swan family just as much as she cares for her own, even before Bella was turned, she thought of her as a sister and Charlie as... Well, a father that she can manipulate easily. Alice has a very manipulative streak in her, and she knows exactly what to do and say to keep others wrapped around her pinky. She does not act this way with malicious intent, it is simply the way she is and she couldn't keep herself from doing it if she tried.
While she may be kind, Alice does have a somewhat crueler streak in her. She can become angry and infuriated as easily as the next vampire, but years of being what she is have given her almost complete control over herself and her expressions. In fact, there is very little that she keeps out of control. She enjoys being aware and in control of everything around her. Even the thirst of human blood has been reduced to a dull hum over the years. Her desire to stay in control has come from her ability to see into the future. After years of enjoying being one step ahead of everyone else and always knowing what is going on, the thought of being as blind as everyone else is almost terrifying to her. When she is rendered blind, by either over-exerting herself of because of werewolves, she becomes easily agitated and feels completely useless. When blind, she usually sulks around the house, pitying herself and pouting until she gets over her inability to see what is coming next. Even more irritating for her is when she is reminded she is not infallible. Having something sneak by her, when she has no excuse like werewolf involvement, sends her into both a depressive slump and intense irritation. When this happens she becomes snappy and moves onto the defensive, especially if anyone questions her or her abilities.
Along with the rest of her family, Alice has a somewhat deep obsession with all things fast. Her recent love is a yellow porsche, just like the one she stole when she and Bella took a last minute trip to Italy to save Edward. She absolutely loves the thrill with speeding, almost more than the thrill that comes with running. This may be because of the "danger" aspect, although being a vampire there are very few things that are dangerous for her. Her quick reflexes would naturally keep her out of harm, but the perception of danger is what keeps the need for speed thriving within her. That said, she pays very little attention to human laws, and has been known to steal when necessary. Her powers give her an unfair advantage when it comes to such things but she rarely indulges so much that others would be put in harm's way because of her actions.
All vampire traits aside, Alice loves indulging in the human things that she always missed out on. She considers herself to be a member of high society and becomes easily obsessed with shopping, clothes, and custom gowns. She has the habit of going overboard, especially when it comes to human activities such as make-overs and slumber parties. Indulging in the side of her that she was never allowed to experience as a human gives her endless enjoyment. Her recent ability to nurse this side of her has only really come to fruition with meeting Bella (though such things have always been nestled deep within her.)
Strengths: Physically, Alice is neither the fastest nor strongest of vampires, but her grace and abilities to predict movements make her a very difficult bloodsucker to kill. Her appearance does not give her much of an advantage over other vampires, since all vampires are fairly stunning, but her doll-like quality does warm the hearts of patriarchal figures in her life such as Charlie Swan. She finds it very easy to manipulate these figures in her life, though on a whole it is not difficult for her to manipulate others. As far as her more unique abilities go, Alice's abilities to predict the future is her foremost vampire strength. Unfortunately, this ability usually leaves her with a feeling of false security and causes her great emotional distress when the unexpected occurs. Psychologically speaking, Alice is driven by loyalty and compassion for those close to her. Her drive to protect her family at all costs fills her with inner strength that helps her to persevere through dark times.
Weaknesses: Alice's ability to predict the future is not only her greatest strength, but her greatest weakness. If she overworks her ability, she becomes completely blind to future events. This usually sends her flying into a bad mood, but it also leaves her vulnerable. Since she does not have great physical capabilities that would surpass another vampire, her ability to predict their next move is the only main advantage she has aside from her ability to move unpredictably. Werewolves make her uneasy because they block her powers, making her feel all the more vulnerable - especially because interactions with werewolves cause the ones she loves to temporarily 'disappear' from the future. Without her power she is much more vulnerable to attack. Her ablity to predict only tells her events that have the possibility of unfolding, without the reasoning behind it. Alice's devotion to her family, while one of her main strengths, is also a weakness. It can cause her to become reckless, leaving her open to getting hurt or hurting others.
Special Abilities:As a human, Alice had the ability to see into the future. This gift damned her to a life of torture and solitude in an asylum, and once she was made a vampire it continued on with her into her new life. She has the ability to see into the future once a decision is made. Unfortunately, her premonitions are not infallible. She cannot see the reason behind why someone makes a decision, and if someone constantly is changing their mind, she can see only glimpses of what they intend to do. She can only see the outcome of the decisions, not the motivation or necessarily who is influencing the decisions. Her visions can be focused on particular areas, but if she stretches herself too thin things slip by her. As far as werewolves are concerned, she is completely blinded. If someone else becomes involved with a werewolf, her visions of them disappear entirely.
Historical
History: Alice Cullen was born Mary Alice Brandon, and much of her early history is shrouded in mystery. She was born around 1901 in Bilox Mississippi. Her biological family members are unknown to her, aside from her younger sister Cynthia and her niece, who is still alive today somewhere in Bilox. During her human life, she was plagued with visions and premonitions. The visions invaded her every being. They haunted her night and day, and it was rare for her to ever be aware of the events going on around her. It was like she was locked in a bubble, surrounded by visions and unable to see anything else. As a human she had very little control over herself and what she saw, and was quickly deemed insane by her family. She was kept shut up in her house for years until she was thrown into an asylum. Her family made it well-known that their daughter had died with a ceremony and a gravestone reads her date of death the date she was admitted into the asylum.
During her life there, she became the favorite of an older vampire who worked as a Doctor and Psychiatrist in the asylum. Her scent to him was like a fine wine, and he coveted her as if she were some precious gift. Every day he took care of her, and eventually came to realize that her insane ramblings foretold the future. He was taken aback by her gift, and knew that if he turned her, that power would be cultivated and controlled... Alas, he could not bear to change her into what he was, despite the fact that her quality of life had deteriorated. Unfortunately, the good doctor was not the only vampire that's eye was attracted to Alice. James, a vampire tracker, observed their relationship and grew to desire Alice fiercely, mostly because he could see how important she was to the older vampire. The doctor was aware of James' presence, and he knew that there was no way he could keep Alice safe. Fearing that Alice would be destroyed, the vampire changed her in an act of desperation, hoping that such an act would protect her from James. The tracker, infuriated by this act, killed the older vampire in revenge and left Alice to fend for herself. A long time passed before Alice was finally aware of herself and her visions. Her life as a newborn is a dark period that Alice prefers not to remember. Her complete lack of control and heightened insanity plague her even to this day. She was completely lost in the world, not knowing who or what she was for a long period of time before visions of hope began to fill her head. She fed on humans because that was what came naturally to her, but visions of Carlisle and his family began to seep into her mind in the 1930s and all of that changed.
Before joining the Cullens, Alice foresaw Jasper Whitlock finding her in a vision, long before he even knew she existed. They met face-to-face in Philadelphia where Alice greeted him as though she had been waiting for him for a long time. Jasper, being a good southern gentleman, apologized for keeping her waiting, though he didn't understand what she meant. She took his hand and the pair began to travel together. The look in her eyes and on her face had given him hope for the first time in a century. As they traveled together, they fell in love, and by the 1950s they had found Carlisle. They were eagerly accepted into the Cullen family and made themselves at home. Jasper and Alice have been married several times in the past, and while they have been called soulmates, they are not nearly as open in their relationship as Rosalie and Emmett.
Forks Washington was once one of Alice's favorite homes, and she still prefers it to Alaska. Due to her ability to see into the future, she was the first to accept the relationship between Edward and Bella and was quick to invite the human girl into her family. Bella is like a sister to her, and always has been, even when she had to fight off the thirst when around her. Alice often joked that she enjoys living vicariously through Bella, planning her birthday parties, slumber parties, and shopping for her. She would do anything she could for Bella, and the separation from her after Bella's 18th birthday party was almost as hard for her as it was for Edward. She had been torn between two loves -- her love for Jasper and her love for Bella. She knew just how their leaving would affect Bella, but it wasn't until she saw the girl throw herself off of a cliff that she sped back to washington.
Alice was uneasy about allying with the werewolves in their battle against Victoria, because they are completely unpredictable. Not only is she unable to see the future once they get involved, their actionsto her simply make no sense. To her, they are unpredictable creatures by nature, and she can't help but hold a bit of a grudge against them for it. During the battle, however, Alice was able to work side-by-side with the werewolves until it was at the verge of completion. Her mind filled with visions of Bella being bitten, and Edward trying to suck the venom from her bloodstream when everything went blank. In a rare moment of panic, Alice tried to flee to Edward's side, but she was unable to evade the werewolves that had now turned on them due to Seth and Jacob's telepathic communications. Alice flew into a fury, knowing what would happen to Alice if the venom spread to the rest of her body.
By the time the werewolves understood what Edward had been trying to do, it was too late. Alice stood silently by his side with the rest of the Cullens as Bella turned. In a haste, they packed up everything they owned, along with a few things of Bella's and flew to their latest safehaven: England. It took a little convincing and manipulation from Alice for Charlie to let Bella depart so easily, but on a whole the move to their new castle went off without a hitch. Alice spends most of her time by Bella's side, trying to ease her through the transformation with a very vivid memory of how terrifying it was for her to wake up alone and without explanation. When she isn't with Bella, Alice finds solace in Jasper, and the pair often roam the countryside together, though Alice has become a little more somber than usual. She is torn between hate and guilt, hating the werewolves for getting in Edward's way, and feeling guilty for being unable to keep Bella from being turned in such a violent way by such an unstable vampire.
Other
Sample RP: One month. One month of trying to deal with a newborn who was vicious and wild. One month of trying to keep Bella from feasting on the flesh of humans. She was doing better now, but the first week had been hell. Alice shuddered to imagine what the transformation would have been like if the Cullens hadn't been there to coddle the poor girl. Of course... If the Cullens had never let Bella into their lives in the first place, she wouldn't have been turned at all. Alice sighed, running her fingers through her short cropped hair. The normally bubbly vampire felt guilt being pressed down upon her shoulders. She couldn't help but think it was somehow her fault... That if only she had been able to stretch herself a little further, she would have been able to see Victoria's next move, even from far away... Everything had gone black once those werewolves had stepped in. The damn dogs. If they hadn't... Alice sighed, telling herself to stop thinking about it. If Edward knew she was sitting up here feeling guilty he would probably lecture her on how she wasn't at fault - even though he too had been wrestling with the guilt of letting Bella be turned.
Sometimes Alice wondered whether she should have just given in all of those times Bella had asked her to make her one of them. Alice had always contemplated it, or at least given it more than a second of thought, but more often than not she had simply brushed the idea aside. She had been afraid of losing control. She had been afraid of killing Bella in the act... But more than that, she was afraid of what Edward would do if Alice had decided to turn Bella. More than anyone, Edward had wanted Bella to stay the way she was.. To experience life in a way that none of them had ever been able to do. Alice closed her eyes for a moment before staring out the window of her room. She was seated at the mahogany desk placed in front of the window, rapping her white knuckles against the surface lightly as she watched the heavy clouds drift by. At least the climate was nice. In fact, despite it's rural location, Alice quite liked Evesham. It was quaint, in a way, but whenever she did get a moment away she would speed off to the city to try to take her mind off of everything. Shopping was still her main source of comfort, though she found herself spending more and more of her free time with Jasper.
She could feel that she was leaning heavily on him now... Maybe because he could make her feel better, and not just because of his ability to manipulate emotions. There was something about him that was just comforting. Even his voice was soothing. They were very protective of each other, even though they weren't as publicly affectionate as the other members Cullen Clan had been; and both would do anything for the other. If Jasper was feeling down, Alice would do everything in her power to make him feel better again, and at this point in their lives, she knew enough about him even without premonitions to know what would make him happy. Alice smiled for a moment, sending Jasper's decision to come upstairs to her room to make sure she was alright. He was still every bit the southern gentleman he had been when they met.
